You will make a boot-able USB. If you have no operating system on your machine, it will ask for a boot-able device here you make your own. This allows you to install Windows 10, Gparted, Supergrub2 and the latest Linux Mint 21.22 Victoria operating systems.
You can get your own on SquaresBay.com if you wish either as a USB, or a USB Card reader with the Yumi on or just the 32GB Card with the boot-able Yumi and the latest version of this book on it as well. This also has an activation folder to Activate Windows 10 and Office 2019 without a key.
You can make a boot-able USB by downloading a Yumi Linux program. In your browser type download Yumi Linux. From Techspot Download YUMI 2.0.9.4
Then Open YUMI. Then open and run Yumi with a USB 32GB in a USB port. Then find Yumi. exe and click on run as administrator. Before making the stick, you will need to download with your browser the following.
1. The latest version of Windows 10 from Microsoft.
2. Gparted the AMD version only
3. Linux Mint 21.22 Victoria
4. Super-grub 2
All these versions must be .iso versions otherwise they will not boot. So, start with Google and download Windows 10 then click download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)
Download the media tool. Run it and ensure you set it to download the .iso file but not directly to the USB you only need it saved as an .iso file in the Documents directory. This should install in the Documents directory by default.
It is a large file of 4.7 GB, so it will take some time to download. It will then say creating Windows 10 Media. Then you should see the Windows Disk Image file in the Documents directory.
When finished use Google again and download Gparted choose the amd64bit version. This is used to partition your hard drive.
When finished use Google again download Supergrub2 Select the Sourceforge version here
Supergrub2 where you can download the iso file.
When finished use Google again download Linux Mint Vera with the cinnamon desktop.

We will show you how in Chapter 6. Why Gparted is extremely useful especially if Windows collects a virus. Gparted will allow you to delete your Windows version if it has a virus, or reduce the size of its partition, or make another partition on your hard drive.

If you have used the Windows backup this will help as well. Here we show you how backup and reinstall your Windows files. Using Mint, you will see a folder on the desktop where you can see all your files to copy into a folder you make on the Mint desktop, Public, or Music folders are good.
All your files will run on Mint in any event and Windows Programs with Playonlinux. You can also run Windows programs on Mint in any event.
